Hunstanton Boat RideThis article was written by a young person who has visited Hunstanton with his family.

"When I first came to the seaside town of Hunstanton I didn’t really know what to expect, but after a number of visits over the last five years I am still entertained by the place. There’s always something new to do, somewhere new to visit. In the town itself there is something for everyone.

"For a start, on the prom there are countless fun and interesting places to go, and you could spend an entire day down there, looking over the sea. There is the Sea-Life centre, which can take a couple of hours to go round, looking at everything from penguins and seals to fish and sharks! But if your taste is more for sport, you can rent jet skis, pedalos, or go kite surfing or wind surfing! Or if you like a good laugh, my family and I had great fun on the Blackbeard mini golf! If you’re hungry there is a fish and chip shop right under the arcade, looking out over the Wash. Eating my fish and chips by the sea there certainly gave me a good holiday feeling! The arcade itself is also fun, giving you the chance to win some pretty basic toys, but after all it’s the taking part that counts! Upstairs in the arcade there is more to do, with a bowling alley and bar - the bowling games with my family have been quite competitive to say the least! Further up the prom there’s a funfair, which is pretty good. And then there’s the beach itself. It spans right from Old Hunstanton village to Hunstanton town, all the way to Heacham. There’s a shipwreck for kids to discover, and sunbathing for others. There are also lots of good walks around the beach.

"The town has some good shops, and you could spend quite a lot of time looking at all of them! There’s a chocolate shop, several clothes shops and a few restaurants with lots of different food choices. And also, perhaps one of the highlights is the largest joke shop in Britain, filled with tricks and laughs! If you aren’t one for shopping there’s also the Princess Theatre in the middle of the town. It’s a cinema and theatre combined, with many family shows. The Princess also has music concerts and other shows including a pantomime at Christmas.

"In the summer, there is a great atmosphere, and I remember a day lying on the Green eating ice-cream, listening to music coming from the band-stand, as the most relaxed I’ve felt in a long time. Having a holiday at the seaside in this country can be more relaxing than going abroad, as it gets rid of the hassle of flying, travelling, security, etc. A holiday in Hunstanton certainly has a lot going for it!"
